Ahhh, I feel sad seeing everyone of them dressed like stepford followers. All smiles, spreading the idea that God approves of spending all that money on a branch building. I wonder if there is a sing a long for the Warwick place.

Erikson's Stages of Psychosocial Development - did you miss a stage?
by Butterfly607 inerikson's stages of psychosocial development include this fifth stage:.
"the fifth stage of erik erikson's theory of psychosocial development is identity vs. role confusion, and it occurs during adolescence, from about 12-18 years.
during this stage, adolescents search for a sense of self and personal identity, through an intense exploration of personal values, beliefs, and goals.".

I find it difficult in areas to be "myself" Growing up as a Jw, you were taught to look to others for the "right" thing to do. And if I did have a stray thought about what "should" be done, I'd always tell myself "well they must know what to do better than me"
I did experience when I was in my 30's, a real desire to dress differently and tint my hair wild colors and that was because I did leave the truth for a few years (although it didn't leave me) I was too good about conforming tho and didn't really do anything. I realized that you can't make the same mistakes that teenagers do when you're an adult, because the consequences are greater.

The Watchtower stole from me and you too
by rickroll inthink of how much time and money the tower stole from any who were in the cult.
think of the vacations as a child you could have taken with your families the memories you could have made instead of sitting in a hot bs week of echo talks and propaganda.
they stole so much from us.

I relate to the child in the video that wanted to play violin in a special class. I've wanted to be an artist since I was five, but the WT frowns on anyone doing "hobbies". I still do art and plan to get back into it but - The child when he is 60 and sees all those other children touring the world and has had a career in music and finds his fingers don't have the agility anymore . . . how sad is that?
Stolen creativity and enjoyment of life to support a money grubbing religion.
To me, that is evil.

The infamous WT article "Why Has God Been So Patient?"
by days of future passed ini went to my sister's house because she was cleaning out the garage and she thought i must have tons of stuff left there.
i didn't but there was a box of unplaced mags in one.
i pulled out one when i got home and it was this one.. i'm sure that if i had read it when it came out, i would have felt that the wt had feelings of sadness over these children.

I went to my sister's house because she was cleaning out the garage and she thought I must have tons of stuff left there. I didn't but there was a box of unplaced mags in one. I pulled out one when I got home and it was this one.
I'm sure that if I had read it when it came out, I would have felt that the WT had feelings of sadness over these children. But reading it now, I can only think that the WT had received letters and calls about this famine and the people starving and how could God let this continue? from sincere witnesses - and they cold heartedly turned this article into something they could trump any talk against God's ways. Whether from JW's or any who were on their way out.
It's infuriating to read. From the WT Oct. 1 1991
Look at the downcast face of a starving child. See his emaciated frame and bloated belly. Think about his desperate need for food, and observe the empty bowl he carries. Perhaps his mother looks on through sunken eyes, her own face a grim picture of hopelessness. Then try to suppress your sorrow - yes, and fight back your tears.
Is there any mention of actually helping them? No. Just statistics about how many are affected. Then a speech about how man has ruined the planet. But wait - they ask at the end Does God really care about us?
God Does Care!
You know what they use as evidence? Bees.
The article after this is about how God was patient in Noah's day.
"..Throughout history, individuals or groups have seized power, one after another, dominating and exploiting other humans. Jehovah God has patiently endured this. Jehovah has been patient while governments sent millions to their deaths in war and allowed gross economic injustices. Today he is still exercising patience as men destroy the ozone layer and pollute the atmosphere and the sea. How it must pain him to see the ruin of good productive land the wanton destruction of forests and wildlife! (I guess people having diseases and suffering old age don't make the list)
Do you know what they use as a comparison for why God is patient in this case? An employee who is always late and what a business owner would do.
Why didn't God destroy wicked mankind earlier - he was waiting on Noah to build an ark. Oh and of course warn the others. Until then, more murders and violence.
Why God Is Patient Now
Why then, has God not long since destroyed ungodly men? Because there have been issues to settle and important matters to arrange.
So sorry to all of those that are suffering famine, wars etc. God has important matters to arrange and it's taken him a couple of days to do it.

Kids With A Card
by days of future passed ini've taken up doordashing to make some extra cash to pay for my hobbies and other things.
you are a food delivery person at the mercy of a crappy app and google which can be stressful.
the plus side is tips and people who are usually happy to see you.. but it wasn't long into this gig, that i became acquainted with a certain kind of customer.

It's a mixed bag with the restaurants. There are some I try to avoid because they are always busy and depending on who is completing orders, your wait stay can be over 20 mins - that is almost one job you lose because of it.
The people who own doordash make it tough to be on time because they only allow a slim margin of time. There is also the rating system. Only a few people have to give you negative reviews to drop you to the point you are no longer considered a Top Dasher. That means you get less of a chance at a higher payout.
I've gotten the negative reviews because I accepted two orders at a time and something gets messed up. Either the app or the restaurant taking too long.
That's pretty much what happens on a regular basis.
But the majority of dashers that I've met are really nice. The people you deliver to, are nice for the most part. The one's with kids are the most grateful. My favorite was a long drop off for very little and I was feeling grumpy and they didn't have a light on in their expensive neighborhood. Just as I got out to try to find it, I saw a man walking up his path and the light in the house turned on. In the large picture window, were the silhouettes of children jumping up and down on the couch because their hamburgers were there. I had to laugh.
